Hey, I'm Matthew
A decade ago I was clocking in, clocking out and wondering, “Is this it?” Since then I’ve travelled to more than 100 countries and lived in corners of the world I never imagined — all trying to make sense of the pull to live a life that actually feels like mine.
Now I’m travelling Australia full-time in a van I built myself — exploring off-grid places, telling stories, and giving this new dream a real crack.
This website is my travel diary… the good days, the lonely ones, the breakdowns (mechanical and mental), and everything in between.

My DIY Van Build
Building this van was a lifelong dream. I didn’t just want a camper — I wanted a home on wheels. I built it from the ground up with no trade background, just patience, a clear vision, and a lot of help from my old man along the way.
What surprised me most was how achievable it all was. The more I learnt, the more confidence I gained — and piece by piece, this thing slowly turned into the home I’d imagined for years.

My Video Journal
This is where everything comes together – the road, the van, the hikes, the breakdowns, and the small moments that make it all worth it. Every episode is a chapter of the story as it’s unfolding. No scripts. No fake drama. Just life on the road in Australia.
Yorke Peninsula
Salt air, quiet coastal roads, and early mornings by the ocean. This chapter follows life on the edge of South Australia — camping by the water, chasing sunrises, and slowing things down. It’s van life at its simplest, where the best moments usually happen off camera.
Flinders Ranges
Red dirt, rugged ranges, and big outback skies. This series dives into remote tracks, campfires under the stars, and the raw beauty of the Flinders. It’s about pushing further inland, embracing the isolation, and sharing what life really looks like out here.
Eyre Peninsula
Wild coastlines, long beaches, and plenty of wind. Eyre is where fishing, freedom, and remote travel all collide. This chapter captures the highs and challenges of exploring one of Australia’s most underrated stretches of coastline.
DIY Dream Van Build
Every adventure starts with the van. This chapter documents the build — the ideas, the mistakes, the upgrades, and everything in between. It’s an honest look at turning a blank van into a home built for life on the road.
